Etsy's BEST Weekly: Moonangelnay

Etsy's BEST Feature:

Today, I have the pleasure of showcasing the multi-dimensional expressions of Moonangelnay Photography on Etsy

Digital Art, photography, and something to think about.

Peaceful Mind

I get bored looking at art. I know  this makes me sound shallow and I probably  should not admit this but it is true. One thing I never get bored of is feeling art. Moonangelnay's altered art pieces creep into my soul and are felt on many levels.

Naomi is a brilliant UK artist taking digital photography to places I have not seen before.
It is her objective in the branding of her work, to present to you more than just physical art or home decor, but something to think about.

Among other digital artistry, Naomi brilliantly works the Bokeh effect into her artwork: shallow depth of field, a fuzzy background, and starry or water drippy highlights.

My interpretation of her inspirations would be nature, light and dark, playing with color and abstract thought.

This is an Aceo entitled  "Watching Over", for me it has the ethereal beauty of a pre-natal ultrasound.

So
I love how the light "pushes" through dark in "Paw Prints"

Sometimes when I look at art I feel so stupid because I just don't "get it".   No anxious thought at all when viewing  Moonangelnay's artwork, I just feel it. You will too.

You must visit her fine art photo gallery and shop on  on Etsy.com
I urge you to read her blog too. It is fascinating to get to know the compelling  artist behind these images.

Moonangelnay prints on Archival quality papers.
Archival photo's are said to last for almost 100 years. The term is used when the right papers and pigmented inks are combined to produce photographs that are more resistant to humidity, and fade.
This multi-talented artisan also has an entirely different shop on Etsy. Take a looky look at Babamoon the cutest baby shop on Etsy, full of  original designs handmade crochet baby hats, newsboy caps, crochet animal hats, earflap beanies, baby shower gifts, infant flower headbands, baby nest cocoon pods and dress up accessories. Most Items are 'Made To Order'

Etsy's BEST Weekly: CKSilver

Fancy Jasper Inspirational Necklace

Ck Silver is an Etsy Jewelry shop run by a mother and daughter team of artists from beautiful Washington State, both of whose  primary inspiration is the beauty of nature. Their collection of jewelry is made  with the colors primarily found in earth and ocean. I love these sea-green Aventurine pieces.

CK Silver's quality jewelry pieces are classically designed and will withstand a lifetime of wear. The team chooses to work in Sterling Silver, freshwater pearls, semi-precious gemstones, and Swarovski crystal, but it is the colors that stand out to me. Gloriously muted earth tones like in these Leopardskin Jasper pieces perfectly paired with pink Rhodondite:

At CK Silver, the sterling silver jewelry  is timeless and elegant. Unique and one of a kind silver pieces that are well-made, balanced, and elegant; easy and, very importantly, comfortable to wear.

Take the guess work out of ,"what to wear with what," by buying in sets like this "Champagne Sunset" set.
Eternity Blue Sodalite Necklace on Sterling Silver Chain
Marilyn and Cindy have a common goal: this is for their customer to be completely satisfied. Each and every piece is created with experience, excellence and pride and CK Silver stands proudly behind their workmanship.

Don't know what to get a new bride? CK Silver has a fantastically priced jewelry of the month club.  Every month your giftee receives a new piece of pearl jewelry, (hint:there is no rule that  the giftee should not be you).

These "First Snowfall" earrings are  another great idea for a bride. Or, you can have Cindy and Marilyn design a custom jewelry collection for the whole bridal party.

The gals at CKSilver have a content-full blog that you will love to read. And it is no wonder they have been featured in nearly fifty blogs!

Thank you for reading,
Norah

Off The Wall Expressions

I lived in apartments for years. On moveout day I would frantically fill nail holes all over the walls with Colgate toothpaste and smooth them out with a butter knife in hopes my landlord would not notice.  I rarely got my security deposit back in whole.

Well, I live in a house now and I still make at least six nail holes to hang one picture. In fact I have been “relieved” of my picture hanging duties by my husband. Yesterday, I showed him the Off The Wall Expression  shop on Etsy.com and he told me I could have as many as I want of these easy to use art pieces.

Off The Wall Expressions is a high quality vinyl lettering and wall art design company selling on Etsy.com.  Tina and Mick are the husband and wife team who create all the designs, and if you are lucky enough to live in their area, (North East Indiana), they do local installation. Their vinyl is the highest quality and they pride themselves in great customer service. They have more than 1200 Etsy sales with perfect feedback to back this up.

The decals are a fantastic design option.
Express yourself
Decorate, make a statement, motivate, inspire, amuse, or organize.
Then change your mind,
And express yourself again!

Vinyl designs are quick and easy to apply, instantly transforming your home or commercial space. Use them in kid’s rooms, kitchen, baby’s room, playroom,  office; even in your car.

You must see the new, write on/wipe off chalkboard labels in many designs and colors!

Use your imagination, or let Tina and Mick do a custom design for you. What a fantastic idea for a special occasion like a wedding.

This is a Floor Decal
The options and uses are endless!  This is the best thing to happen in DIY design in ages! The Decals are precision cut using the highest quality interior vinyl in a matte finish for a hand-painted look once applied to your wall. And exterior gloss vinyl for outdoor applications is now available in a limited color selection

Visit the  blog to enter contests for free giveaways and lots more!
Please 'like' the OTWE Facebook page for sales and special coupons codes!

-
“I can’t do this, I have 10 thumbs”.

Never fear, vinyl can be applied to any smooth surface such as walls, windows, wood, glass, refrigerators, plastic, bathtubs, picture frames, and many more.

Vinyl Decal application is fun and easy! Tina and Mick always include complete instructions with each order. When you are ready to remove your decals, just start at a corner and peel off. The decals will not damage the wall surface or leave any residue.

On Behalf Of

Hope Makes One Live

I have been drawn to this mixed media art on Etsy.com many times. I have used it in treasuries and I always find myself going back to look for it. It speaks to me. It is the juxtaposition of the girly petal pink, framing the devastation in Haiti which has taken away this little girl's childhood. She aches yet she is still hopeful. I had no idea the artist was still a little girl herself!

I am so happy I can share this young seller's Etsy shop with you today. Her name is Kate and her store, On Behalf Of, exists in honor and recognition of  children who cannot do for themselves. This big sister of three adopted children is still a little girl herself, yet she has traveled the world and has seen firsthand, those who others often look past. This has inspired the artwork, photography, and  the crafting you will see here and in her very special Etsy shop.

Wear this Orphan Care Bracelet in honor of the millions of orphaned children who hold on to their hope.

In Kate's own words, "Now that I have seen, I am responsible."
Do You See Me
Kate divides Ninety percent of the proceeds from each item in her shop and gives  to the following organizations.

  • Lahash International: http://www.lahash.net
  • Blood: Water Mission: http://www.bloodwatermission.com
  • Not For Sale Campaign: http://www.notforsalecampaign.org/

  • Shaohannah's Hope: http://www.shophope.org
  • A Beautiful Idea: http://http://www.beautifulidea.us/
Red Dress-altered photo
Her art and craft help to provide clean water in developing countries, to free modern day slaves, to care for orphans, and provide medical help to those with HIV.
Kate took this photo herself, of a map in a school in Tanzania
Kate is still a little girl, doing a very grown up thing. Please help and shop at On Behalf Of, in honor of those who have not.

You can also follow along Kate's blog to learn of her day to day involvement in bettering your world.
I Have a Dream, Too.

Thank you for reading,
and hopefully helping,
Norah

Danizabeth and Ghosts of the Midwest

I am an original New York City girl. I combed the Urban Heartland from tip to tip and side to side for twenty five years. Always looking up, it is a miracle I was never mugged. New York City has lost so much of its seediness since I first arrived. Most people are thrilled with this. Me, I miss the ghosts. Call me nostalgic, but something about a boarded up building moves my insides. I think about who had lived there and wonder how this once vibrant home to hundreds had become slated for demolition. Why did the city stop loving it? I would walk along the shores of the Mighty Hudson and see the once needed steel piers collapsed in the murky waters, barnacles creeping up the sides. From age and disuse, the I-beams would shift and sink and lean into every odd geometric composition and I would stop and wonder, when did the city stop needing this?  Ghosts.

One of the first shops I found and “hearted” on Etsy.com is the art photography collection, Danizabeth. I was instantly drawn to her photographs of  a different type of ghost. Ghosts I have never really seen in person. But in looking at the photographs, I felt the photographer’s sense of sad nostalgia. This spoke to me and her work ached my heart.

I have gone back to view these images countless times and today, I have the pleasure of sharing some of these photos with you. Danielle, of Danizabeth shares stories similar to my NYC ghost stories, only hers take place in the heartland of  Illinois. Drawn to a salvage yard, this life-long creator of art found a new medium and muse in a day.

Danielle is moved by images of yesteryear, frozen in time, in the present day. Her images are shot in natural light, and without fancy effects. They transport you to a seemingly easier time, a more innocent time when the days did not move by so quickly. Danielle captures beauty in unexpected places and things.

Danizabeth has been open and selling on Etsy for two years and is having a 15% off sale in celebration of this milestone. You can also contact Danielle about having prints made on canvas, or in other sizes. Find out more and follow this fantastic art photographer on her blog. You can also follow and support her on Facebook and Twitter.

I cannot wait to see what she does next. I look forward to seeing how she brings out the character of her next muse.

Norah
